Assistant Head Swim Coach — Summer 2026
Pinecrest Swim Team (Herndon, VA | Fox Mill neighborhood)

Pinecrest Swim Team serves 100+ families and nearly 200 swimmers (ages 5–18) across all ability levels. We compete in the NVSL and a local developmental league. We’re seeking an Assistant Head Coach for Summer 2026 who brings technical excellence, contagious enthusiasm, and supportive leadership.

Role Highlights

- Lead and assist age-group practices; step in to run practices and meets as needed.

• Teach stroke technique, race strategy, and good sportsmanship.

• Serve as the main point of contact for the Pee-Wee Piranha program — responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, coordinating with the Head Coach, and overseeing Pee-Wee coaches and volunteers (though may not coach this group directly).

• Collaborate on seasonal plans, dryland, sets, and meet lineups.

• Communicate clearly with swimmers, parents, coaches, and pool staff.

Required Qualifications

• Current Pool Operator, CPR/First Aid, and Lifeguard/Water Safety certifications (must be current or obtained prior to season start)

• Familiarity with NVSL rules, standards, and meet procedures

• Strong leadership, organization, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to foster a positive, team-spirited environment among swimmers, coaches, and parents

• Experience coaching competitive club and/or summer-league swimmers

Preferred

• Prior coaching (or comparable leadership) experience

• One year of college or more

• Experience creating workouts, seasonal plans, and meet lineups
