| This is the NVSL job you have been waiting for! The Hiddenbrook Hurricanes Swim Team is looking for a Head Coach after 17 seasons. We have spent the past six seasons in Divisions 4 or 5 and are the defending Division 4 Relay Carnival Champions. Located in the Hiddenbrook neighborhood of Herndon, our team of ~220 athletes is searching for a Head Coach who will instill a love of the sport and bring enthusiasm, fun, patience, organization, and swimming knowledge for the 2025 season. As Hiddenbrook Head Coach, you’ll benefit from an exceptional support system of volunteer parents allowing you to focus on coaching and developing swimmers. The successful candidate will find a friendly, positive team environment, a well-kept facility and the support of a robust group of parent volunteers. Volunteers oversee the Waterspouts (the team’s youngest ~60 developmental swimmers), our winter developmental program, and the summer social activities, allowing our Head Coach to focus on summer age group coaching, meets, and staff development. Head Coach Responsibilities: ? Run fun, structurally sound practices for developmental and competitive swimmers at all levels of ability so that they learn stroke/turn/finish technique. ? Offer positive and constructive feedback after races and train your staff to do the same. ? Attend practices, meets, social events from our post Memorial Day after-school workouts through 2025 NVSL All Stars in late July. ? Manage coaching staff (two assistants, four Junior Coaches) so that they balance quality instruction with a fun and supportive team culture. ? Participate in weekly “A” meet line-up planning meetings. Requirements: ? College Degree preferred, excellent spoken and written communication skills as well as organization and leadership skills. ? Previous Head Coach or extensive assistant coaching experience (NVSL experience preferred). ? Experience working with children of all ages and ability levels. ? Lifeguard & Pool Operator Certifications are required at the beginning of the season – the team will reimburse class fees.
