Happy New Year to our wonderful NVSL community! It's 2026 and we are planning another great season for our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families. You may have heard ... the NVSL is moving to SwimTopia for both team and meet management! We're excited to implement Meet Maestro to help run meets more smoothly and efficiently. Team Reps will be getting communications throughout the winter and spring regarding the transition so please make sure your contacts are updated and please check those team emails periodically. Email asknvsl@gmail.com with any changes.
The Annual Seeding Meeting is locked in for Sunday March 1 as well as NVSL University on Saturday May 30. We expect to make the Officials Certification/Recertification training schedule available no later than the Seeding Meeting. Important update for 2026 -- all training clinics will be held in person this spring and summer. We are not holding any virtual recertification clinics.
Check the calendar tab of the website for 2026 meet dates - the first dual meet of the season wil be held Saturday June 20 and we wrap up the season on Saturday August 1 with the Individual All Star meet. Specific team schedules will be shared at the Seeding Meeting and posted to the website (and your team SwimTopia page!) later in March. The board will be discussing the 2027 schedule over the winter and we expect to have it finalized in time for this year's Seeding Meeting.
Cheer on the Caps, join your summer swim friends and show your team spirit in the pool with a Cap logo swim cap! For more information and tickets, please visit:

A few short weeks ago, we enjoyed a beautiful day and even better, some amazing swims at the Individual All Star Meet at Pinecrest. The group photos taken following the awards presentation are now available. Team reps, coaches, athletes and family members can view and download photos directly from the site. With the completion of the Individual All Star meet on Saturday, our 2025 season is in the books! Congratulations on an amazing season together!
We measured success in so many ways this summer. Our swimmers raced hard and set new team records and new NVSL records, embraced the competition and swam exciting All Star Relay and Individual All Star races, and enjoyed Division Championship celebrations with their teammates. Across the league, we recognized our graduating seniors and NVSL scholarship winners. We celebrated outstanding sportsmanship in our Sportsmanship Award recipients. Every Saturday morning across Northern Virginia, a swimmer was swimming their first "A" meet, earning their first point for their team, performing a first legal swim in breaststroke or butterfly, or cheered on as they touched the wall with a big smile and handshake for their competitor. Our team mascots led cheers, we were outfitted in all kinds of themed costumes, and at some point, a line dance broke out on deck and swimmers from both teams rocked their best moves together.
None of these achievements would be possible without our volunteers. THANK YOU to our absolutely incredible NVSL volunteers! Our team reps, officials, data coordinators, table workers, clerks of course, timers, marshals, announcers, concessions and grill masters, every person who filled a volunteer shift for your teams this season... you each contributed to make this a memorable summer for our athletes. You contributed to a tradition now over 70 years running and generously served your communities and summer families.
Congratulations, and thank you! Planning for 2026 starts now, well... after a couple weeks of rest. :) Have a wonderful August!
