|Job Title||Head Coach Position|
Sideburn Run is looking for a Head Coach for the Summer 2021 season
Looking to lead a swim team in a competitive yet fun environment? Sideburn Run offers a unique opportunity to combine your skills as a teacher and strengths as a leader with your core belief that summer swim team is ultimately about having fun.
Sideburn Run is the little pool that could. We’ve recently (and quickly!) climbed the divisional ladder, most recently landing in division 4 for the 2020 season. Our small but mighty core group of Sharks holds individual and relay records and we’ve beaten the top division pools to the wall at All Stars. Our next head coach will have the real opportunity to coach swimmers striving for NVSL records and future college swim teams. But Sideburn Run is about more than just winning. We’re a small pool with a tightly knit community. Our pool has been referred to as a “dance club” on Saturday meet mornings (which we happily embrace). We enjoy the silly parts of the summer as much as the serious ones, from themed events to contests with ridiculous prizes to dancing on deck between heats (see previous sentence). Our team members know they’ll have the opportunity to be the best swimmer they can be while creating a summer full of memories.
We are accepting resumes for the position of Head Coach for the 2021 summer swim team season. Sideburn Run is located in Fairfax, Virginia with 100 swim team swimmers (ages 5-18) and a 20 swimmer Lil Sharks program (ages 4-8). Our program starts after Memorial Day weekend and runs through the first week of August. Practices start with weekday afternoon sessions until school lets out then switches to weekday mornings for the rest of the season. Swim meets are Saturday mornings and Monday evenings.
We’re looking to fill this position by the middle of February. If you’re interested, please send your resume via email to Nicki Miller and Alysia Thompson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Go Sharks!
