The Camelot Community Club (Home of the Knights!) is looking to hire an Assistant Coach for the 2023 summer season. We are located in Annandale just outside the beltway off Gallows Road. We finished the 2022 season in a 3 way tie for the Division 10 Championship and took First place at the Relay Carnival.

We are looking to hire an assistant coach who is enthusiastic, passionate, and brings technical knowledge and coaching experience to work with swimmers of all ages and ability levels.  The assistant coach, along with the head coach and several junior coaches, will help to lead a team of 150 swimmers including a developmental group of about 30 swimmers. 

Our Monday through Friday evening practices begin the day after Memorial Day.  They are held from 4:00pm - 6:45pm and run through June 16th.  Beginning June 19th, practices will be held for three age groups from 7:45am - 10:45am.  Our developmental swim team (Squires) program will be supervised and run by the head coach.  Morning practices are held Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 12:00pm.  There are also evening practices on select Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.

Qualifications:

1-2 Years coaching experience - preferably for an NVSL or similar competitive team

CPR and First Aid Certified

Lifeguard/Water Safety Certified 

Pool Operator Certificate (will reimburse)

Competitive swim experience and technical knowledge

Responsibilities:

Assist in Writing and leading practices for 3 age groups and 2 developmental groups. 

Provide constructive feedback to swimmers

Assist in seeding meets

Attend all meets: Time Trials, Monday night B meets, Saturday morning A meets, Relay Carnival, Championship meets, and Lollipop developmental meet. 

Attend team social events, including pep rallies and end of season awards banquet.

Mentor junior coaches

Model good sportsmanship and team spirit

Maintain open communication with team reps and interact with others in a positive, professional manner.

Attend a preseason NVSL Coaches Clinic
