Job Description

Head Swim Coach; Camelot Community Club, Annandale

We are looking for a head swim coach for the Camelot Knights and Squires (developmental team) for the upcoming 2023 summer swim season.  Camelot ended in a 3-way tie with a 4-1 record to win Division 10 in 2022.  Camelot Community Club is a close-knit pool community where we not only work towards building a competitive swim team, but also to instill good sportsmanship and develop a love of the sport of swimming!  

We are seeking an energetic, positive and organized coach with strong interpersonal skills able to work with swimmers of all ages and ability levels.  Applicants should have demonstrated  leadership, communication, and multi-tasking skills that equip them to lead a team of 150 swimmers and a developmental group of 30 swimmers. The head coach will be assisted by an Assistant Coach and several senior/junior lane coaches.

Our Monday through Friday evening practices begin the day after Memorial Day.  They are held from 4:00pm - 6:45pm and run through June 16th.  Beginning June 19th, practices will be held for three age groups from 7:45am - 10:45am.  Our developmental swim team (Squires) program will be supervised and run by the head coach.  Morning practices are held Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 12:00pm.  There are also alternative practices on select Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.

Qualifications:
2-4 Years coaching experience; preferably as an assistant or head coach of a summer team
CPR and First Aid Certified
Lifeguard/Water Safety Certified 
Pool Operator Certificate (will reimburse)
Experience writing practice sets for multiple age and ability levels
Experience seeding meets

Responsibilities:
Write and lead practices for 3 age groups and 2 developmental groups. 
Provide constructive feedback to swimmers
Seed all meets
Attend all meets: Time Trials, Monday night B meets, Saturday morning A meets, Relay Carnival, Championship meets, and Lollipop developmental meet. 
Attend team social events, including pep rallies and end of season awards banquet.
Mentor assistant and junior coaches
Model good sportsmanship and team spirit
Maintain open communication with team reps and interact with others in a positive, professional manner.
