Job Title 2018 Head Coach
Job Description

Fairfax Club Estates is seeking a Head Swim Coach for the 2018 NVSL summer season.

We are looking for coach with strong interpersonal skills who will focus on teaching good stroke mechanics and techniques to all ages and who prioritizes team unity, spirit, and sportsmanship. We are a neighborhood pool, with the majority of our swimmers coming from the Fairfax Club Estates and Middleridge neighborhoods. Our team has grown rapidly in the past few years, with approximately 150 swimmers in 2017, including 25 Mini-Flippers. We promote a competitive and fun atmosphere for all of our swimmers, and will swim in Division 11 for the 2018 season.

Responsibilities include:
  - Leading all age-group practices, beginning with evening practices from May 29-June 15 and morning practices from June 18-July 27
  - Leading Mini-Flipper practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for our developing swimmers and conducting stroke and turn clinics Tuesdays and Thursdays for all swimmers
  - Supervising assistant and junior coaches and working with the team rep to ensure smooth administration of the team
  - Leading meets, including Saturday A meets, Monday B meets, Relay Carnival, Divisionals, and all-stars as appropriate
  - Participating in team social events

Qualifications should include:
  - Previous experience as a head swim coach or sufficient experience as an assistant coach in the NVSL or similar type of league
  - Knowledge of proper stroke techniques and best practices
  - Strong communication skills
  - Experience with seeding and managing swim meets
  - Lifeguard/CPR certification and pool operator’s license
